FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Always a highlight for the entire Bay Area, the fireworks which begin at 9:30 pm are an ongoing tradition and can be seen above the Port of Redwood City.

We are proud that the members of our organization have operated the Peninsula Celebration Association since 1939 as a true volunteer group. our goal is to help make our city not just a place to live, but a real community of people who care!!

The Fireworks Spectacular is presented to you by the Peninsula Celebration Association high above the Port of Redwood City.

They can be seen from downtown and anywhere west of Highway 101 where there is a clear view of the skies above the Port.  They can also be seen from high points all over the Peninsula. See the article by VIA Magazine calling this show one of the best fireworks shows in the west!

Date: Saturday July 4th, 2009
Time: Approximately 9:30pm

Public Viewing Areas Provided by the Port of Redwood City

  • The Port of Redwood City is an industrial area which is mostly private property with very limited public parking.  The Port has provided a Public viewing area along the waterfront off of Seaport Court. Once all of the public parking spaces are filled, Redwood City Police Department will close Seaport Blvd to all vehicle traffic at the intersection of Seaport Blvd/Blomquist.
  • The Port's public boat launch ramp will remain open on July 4th. Viewing of the fireworks from watercraft is allowed provided they remain anchored outside of the designated safety zone.   
  • No spectators will be permitted on the launch ramp dock during the fireworks show.

  • Our high aerial fireworks display is launched over water from the Port of Redwood City.  The show can be seen from may areas where there is an open view of the sky above the Port."

 Once the intersection has been closed, no vehicle access to the Port area will be granted. This traffic control restriction could occur as early as 7:30 p.m.
